The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild feline may be in Africa. Servals are carnivores- they prey on rodents( especially vlei rats ), small-minded birds, frogs, bugs, and reptiles. The serval applies its sense of hearing to locate the prey; to kill small-time prey, it leaps over 2 m( 6 ft 7 in) above the floor to land on the prey on its forefeet, and finally kills it with little bit on the neck or the honcho. Mating takes residence at different times of its first year in different parts of their assortment, but often once or twice a year in an area. After a gestational period of two to 3 month, a offspring of one to four is digest. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens embark hunting on their own at six months. The juveniles leave their father at 12 months .

The serval opts areas with cover such as reeds and towering grass and proximity to ocean mass, such as wetlands and savannahs. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but pervasive in south Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources( IUCN) classifies the serval as least anxiety. It occurs in protection areas across its range, and chase of servals is either vetoed or regulated in several countries .
