The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild feline found in Africa. After a gestational period of two to 3 month, a litter of one to four is tolerate. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens begin hunting on their own at six months. The youths leave their father at 12 months .

The serval favors areas with embrace such as reeds and towering grasses and proximity to ocean organizations, such as wetlands and savannahs. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but widespread in southern Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and National resources( IUCN) classifies the serval as least concern. It occurs in protected areas across its range, and chase of servals is either prohibited or regulated in several countries .
