The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild cat found in Africa. It is the sole is part of the genus Leptailurus and was firstly is a description of German naturalist Johann Christian Daniel von Schreber in 1776. Eighteen subspecies are recognised. Mating takes region at different times of its first year in different parts of their assortment, but commonly once or twice a year in an area. After a gestational period of two to three months, a litter of one to four is endure. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens embark hunting on their own at six months. The teenagers leave their father at 12 months .
The serval wishes areas with embrace such as reeds and towering grass and close proximity to sea mass, such as wetlands and savannah. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but widespread in south Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and National resources( IUCN) categorizes the serval as least pertain.
