The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild "cat-o-nine-tail" found in Africa. After a gestational period of two to three months, a offspring of one to four is abide. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens begin hunting on their own at six months. The juveniles leave their mother at 12 months .

The serval prefers areas with include such as reeds and towering grasses and close proximity to liquid bodies, such as wetlands and savannah. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but widespread in south Africa.
