The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild feline may be in Africa. After a gestational period of two to 3 month, a litter of one to four is birth. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens begin hunting on their own at six months. The adolescents leave their mother at 12 months .

The serval favors areas with cover such as reeds and tall grasses and proximity to water forms, such as wetlands and savannah. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but pervasive in southern Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and National resources( IUCN) categorizes the serval as least regard. It occurs in protected areas across its scope, and hunting of servals is either proscribed or regulated in several countries .
