The Serval Cat also known as the tierboskat, is a wild cat found in Africa. After a gestational reporting period two to three months, a litter of one to four is birth. Weaning occurs at one month, and kittens embark hunting on their own at six months. The juveniles leave their mom at 12 months .
The serval prefers areas with encompas such as reeds and tall grass and close proximity to liquid bodies, such as wetlands and savannah. It is rare in northern Africa and the Sahel, but widespread in southern Africa. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources( IUCN) categorizes the serval as least pertain. It occurs in protection areas across its assortment, and chase of servals is either prohibited or regulated in several countries .
